Save target as

I dont have the option to save the target as on anything. is this a setting that got changed or what? i just noticed this the other week and i thought it was the website but when it happened on multiple websites i realized it was my computer. thanks in advanced

    in firefox, i don't have "save target as" either....i have "save link as" or "save image as" or even "save page as" ---what browser are you using?

    im using IE. havent used firefox in a long time dont even have it downloaded

    See if you have this Registry key:
    HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions
    Parameter: NoBrowserSaveAs

    If this parameter is "1" then "File/Save As" menu is disabled in IE. To enable it set parameter to "0".

    Start>>>Run, type in regedit click "OK", then navigate to the path listed above.

    ok so i got into using the run. then went to "Hkey current user/software/policies/microsoft/then there is no internet explorer menu. there is a registry key but that is it. now what?

    Those look like a couple of great links, ronbo. :thumbsup:

    The second one you listed looks particularly promising. One of my complaints with Windows is that a lot of the security hotfixes seem to merely disable something. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if that's the case here.
