Firefox Bookmarks

edited December 2005 in Science & Tech
Does anyone know a program or something of the sort that gets your bookmarks out of Firefox and into a .html format? (in other words, you can save it to a CD, kind of like the bookmarks that Internet Explorer sets up (found in a Favourites folder))

Reason - I want to clean up EVERYTHING and bookmarks is a everything. I want to save my bookmarks (like 100 of them, no way in hell am I going to copy the URL and save into a .doc)

(I might be getting the latest Windows OS! Get to be a beta tester! I know it's going to come close to frying my computer at least once but hey, it'll be cool to try, I need to format this thing anyway..monitor's still messed up, probably conflicting driver stuff I don't want to mess with... :shakehead )

    Bookmarks
    Manage Bookmarks
    File
    Export

I think that should do it...

Yes that does do it and puts them all into links in an HTML doc. That's how I back mine up.

wtf! I swear, I have no idea what I'm doing...did I double post? I knew I hit preview but I think I hit back and didn't ever submit...if I did double, just kill this one..

that's where they hid the export...file-import is how you get them in, they should really throw 'export' in there too...

    thanks a bunch!

For reference.. if FireFox decides to stop altogether, you can find the bookmarks.html file at:

    C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[RANDOMCHARACTERS].default\bookmarks.html

Just replace [USERNAME] with whatever user you are logged in as and the random characters are generated and can be ignored... for example...

    C:\Documents and Settings\dan\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\d4t0ci8f.default\bookmarks.html

    Is mine :)
