Techdirt reports that Bill Gates' time is nearly up on his pledge to stop email spam by 2006.
At the end of January 2004, Bill Gates was talking about tackling spam and said that within two years, it would be "solved". We checked in earlier this year, and he didn't seem to have made much of an impact, and it certainly doesn't look like spam's going anywhere. So, hopefully ol' Bill's got a lot of free time over the holidays, because he's got 36 days to stop spam. Somebody put the coffee on for him.

A lot of the CEOs I've seen would find a way to spin this so that they suceeded!

Lemme see. Ah! I got it!

SM: So what do you say to this Mr. Gates?

BG: For each individual user Spam is a matter of personal perspective. We at Microsoft have suceeded and developed everything the user needs to stop Spam in their machines. All the user needs to do is know how to set-up their systems to stop what they consider Spam. Microsoft will gladly help them do so for $35 per incidence and an hourly fee.

    Whaddaya think?
