Wireless network problem

edited December 2005 in Science & Tech
Please help.
I have two computers that I am trying to hook up to the internet. Our provider is Verizon DSL. The downstairs computer is hooked up to their Westell 327W router and is working fine. The problem I have is our upstairs computer. I installed a linksys wireless - G PCI Adapter with speed booster in the upstairs computer. I also replaced the antennae on the downstairs router with a stronger one. When I try to connect to the internet, upstairs, it shows a signal, but as soon as i try to connect it disapears. I know the wireless signal works because I bring my laptop home and using it's wirelss card i can access the internet from the same room as the computer upstairs. What should i do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi there,

Check what ipadress both computers is assigned to and try to ping them from each other. Start-run-type "cmd"-enter-type "ipconfig /all" on both machines. Paste in a screenie from both in the thread here.
