Monitor Selection -

Been looking through some monitors for when I move into the Attic (Attic = Space, Curren room = Closet) and these are the ones I have picked out so far.....

NEC Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 93SB

Iiyama Vision Master Pro 455

Samsung SyncMaster 959 NF

Samsung SyncMaster 957 MB

ViewSonic P95f+

At the moment I am vering on the last monitor posted due to the lower dot pitch.

Any oppinions on any of these, or one that is better and aquireable in the UK?

Cheers,
NS

viewsonic p95f+ http://www.viewsonic.com/products/crt_p95fplus.htm has always been my favorite selection when it comes to crt's w/ flat screen and high res/low dp. 1600x 1200 @ 87hz ...max is 2048x1536 @ 68Hz
don't know what's available in the uk though.

The DP seems quite high when comparing to the others posted -
    .25mm aperture grille [at center]
    .27mm aperture grille [at corner]

Though it does look like a nice monitor....... I'll throw it into the pile, but I need to find it first....

What are the refresh rates? Doesn't the Iiyama have the best?

dot pitch ratings are often deceptive ...check mfg's specs always.

at .22dp the cornerstone c910 corporate (as far as 19"ers go) http://compare.monitorsdirect.com/admin/datasheet2.jsp?type=ex&id=559&format=pdf

1600x1200@76hz ... .22dp 202.5mhz pixel clock but check out the convergence ... .25@center & .35@corners (which is basically identical to the viewsonic).

I am only really interested in 1600x1200, and after it hits 80hz I really dont care as it won't make any difference (really cant notice, unless it is 100hz then that is noticeable from 80) and all of these monitors can do that (It's a pre-requisite for the list). 100hz would be nice at 1600x1200 but I want to keep the price around or below £200.

csimon: What monitor(s) were you talking about in your last post? I couldn't quite follow you.

I really love the Iiyama HM903DT | Vision Master Pro 454 1600x1200@104hz http://www.iiyama.com/default.asp if I were to replace my 20" diamondscan (after about 20 years of reliable service (($1875))) this is the monitor I'd choose.:D

None of the resellers in my area are ones that I would ever buy online from, nor do they have even remotely competetive prices compared to Dabs and EBuyer.

The only place worth considering was Evesham Micros and it was £300 on there, which is well out my price range.

Ok, found it on eBuyer, but dispite the good reviews, I still cannot justify nearly £300 on a monitor......

EDIT: Managed to get £266, can someone PLEASE try to beat that?
