PC Slow/Jumpy/Performing Graphics Operations Poorly

Hey Guys,

My machine, which as of late will not even connect to the network, seems to have some sort of cancer. It is especially slow when running games that it should not have much of a problem with... like the videocard isn't really even doing its job. My father recently put ezAntivirus on it, which hasn't picked up anything at all. Since the computer won't connect to the web, I used my laptop to compile a bunch of the software I've seen reccomended here. I've scanned both drives with eScan Antivirus (mwav), and come up with the following nasties:

    There's an additional oddity. There is no printer connected to the machine, nor is it connected to the network, but on startup Windows says that it found new hardware. Rather than saying "HP Deskjet 1200c," or something similar, it just says "Printer." I deleted the printers that WERE installed, just to make sure there wasn't some svchost process constantly looking for one.

    What's the deal with that?

    Download Ad-Aware SE and SpyBot Search & Destroy from here. Update the definitions for both and then EXIT.


    Go into Safe Mode - explained here


    When in Safe Mode, do Full System Scans with both. Remove everything they find.


    Reboot into Normal Mode and post a new HJT log :)

    The system has even less available RAM now, and there is one svchost process gobbling 24 MB alone. The ghost printer is still an issue. The computer still will not connect to the network; it is unable to renew its IP.

    What exact problems are you having?


    Go here and download then run Silent Runners.vbs. It generates a log, please post the information back in this thread.
    If you have a script blocking program, please allow the file to run. It is not malicious.
