about:blank - can't remove

Hi fellas,

I have picked up the about:blank critter which has hijacked my IE browser (re-directing it to some page about covering my tracks) and also my background wallpaper which says the same thing and can't be changed. I have today run the following programs in attempt to remove it but without success.
  • Adware 6.0
  • CWshredder
  • Spybot S&D
  • MS Anti Spyware
  • MS Malicious Removal
  • Ewido
  • CCleaner
  • HSremove
  • Avast
  • Adware Away

Here is my HJT log. Please help! Many thanks.

[STEP 1] Show Hidden and System Files:
Malicous files shown in your log may be set as hidden or system files to trick users into thinking they have been deleted. Turn on the display Hidden and System files by going to "My Computer" and under the "Tools" menu select "Folder Options". Once in "Folder Options" go to the "View" tab and uncheck the "Hide Protected Operating System Files" and click the radio button that is marked "Show Hidden Files and Folders".

    [STEP 2] Fix HijackThis Entries:
Fix the following entries with HijackThis by placing checkmarks in the boxes next to them and clicking "Fix Checked".

    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)

    Hi,

Ok, I have fixed the files as instructed. Unfortunately, there is still no sign of the file: C:\WINDOWS\1434d3d09a4.exe

I have hidden folders showing and system files showing. Still no sign of it. I also filtered all files by type (i.e. .exe files) to see if I could spot it that way. Definitely not there. I will of course be happy to upload the file for your analysis when I can find it ; )

Happy New Year to Spyware Shooter and all at Short Media!

Just a quick bump further to my last post above. Am still infected with about: blank and unable to change homepage or background plus annoying pop ups telling me I have evidence on my computer.

Have tried fixing O23 - Service: WindowInstallSystem (1434d3d09a4svr) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\1434d3d09a4.exe in HJT but it just won't delete. Tried several times to no avail.

Please can you review my log above and help.

    Thanks!
