Connection problem with Internet Browsers

For some reason IE, FireFox and Opera will not connect to the internet on the main computer at all. I've tried all the user accounts on the computer and nothing is connecting, not even for software updates.

The main computer has a router connected to it. The router is working fine as all lights are strong and getting connection to the wireless laptop on the network. I'm posting from the laptop now.

Give me some ideas - I got WU's to upload on that computer :):fold:

Thanks :)

Can you ping anything on that computer?
Does it have an IP address?
Have you attempted a WINSOCK fix?
    Have you tried reinstalling TCP/IP?

4 days later and the same thing has happened. Its been about 9 hours now since things stopped working on the main comp :(

    To answer Thrax's question:

Can you ping anything on that computer?
    Nope!

Does it have an IP address?
    Yes!

Have you attempted a WINSOCK fix?
Yep! Tried it and it didn't work.

    Have you tried reinstalling TCP/IP?
Don't think so. How do you do that?

I can't do a repair install or any of that as I don't have a CD - The comp is an OEM - No CD!

I'm hoping it sorts it self out like previously. Until then, anyone got any suggestions?

    Thanks :)
