CMOS Checksum error

Recently,only when I turn of the power supply,when I boot up,it comes up with CMOS Checksum error.I went into setup found the internal clock was wrong. I fixed it and I was able to access servers.I remembered to press F10 to save.Yet it still happens when I boot up after shutting down and turning of the power supply.What is CMOS Checksum error and how should I fix it?I shut down and turn off the power supply to save power.Is it ok doing this?

A new battery will let your bios hold the settings while your pc is off.

It looks like a nickel on your mobo, you should be able to get one cheap just about anywhere.
