Shutting Down F@H As a Service

Sometimes when Im having problems with stuff I'd like to shut down folding at home. So I startup FireDaemon service manager and hit Stop Service, but, Folding see this as an improper shutdown, and many times it restarts the WU! after a lot of work most times. And I have that flag on to ignore previous termination but sometimes it still loses work. Is there a better way to shut it down running as a service?

Without the firedaemon service running, it can't restart :)

yeah, but I mean, like wont it cut off the FAH process, and then when I restart the FireDaemon Manager, it will start the FAH service again and it might be messed up. Like when I shut it down through FireDaemon, the Folding at Home Client Shutdown line isnt in the log

Better ask one of the firedaemon pro's then mate.. sorry :(

I assumed you wanted to turn off the service altogether. I normally just control panel---> Admin tools ----> services.. and stop firedaemon. That does the trick for me.

Folding continues to run after you stop firedaemon. I've never seen the Folding core stop just because firedaemon service is stopped. Only way I could stop it correctly was to disable the firedaemon service and reboot. My experience could be from the FD version and use of it in Win2K - I haven't used it since switching to Electron Microscope III to stealth F@H.

You could see if a registry edit to make the console window show up is available so you can ctrl+c. I know EMIII has an option to "restore FAH window(s) on shut down" meaning if you used EMIII to hide the FAH window you can have it reappear when you close EMIII so I bet a registry thing is possible.
