Linksys Wireless Router WRT54GSv4

edited January 2006 in Science & Tech
Happy New Year gang!!!

I have a Linksys Wireless Router connected to a Cable Modem. The question is:

Is it possible to have the Wireless connected directly to the Modem but only use the wireless?

I only have one laptop and would like to use it wirelesss only. I have clonned the MAC of the LAN and via this way everything works fine. However, when I go wireless nothing works.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
tequilamam

Do you mean have a wireless connection to the modem? Excuse me for asking but why? Can you not have the router next to the modem and just use wireless for the laptop?

    Hi Bothered,

The Wireless is connected directly to the modem. When the machine is connected directly to the the wireless it works (via cat5 cable) the problem is when I want to use the laptop wireless no cable to it.
    Thanks,
