i have connected that 20 pins to the 24 pins power connector.

Is this a pre-built machine (Compac, Dell, etc.)? Am I reading correctly your trying to use a 235w psu to power a newer machine?
I think Enverex hit it on lthe head, your trying to use an ATX1 psu on an atx2 system.
If you built it yourself, could you list exact what cpu, motherboard, graphics card etc. so maybe we could point you in the right dirrection.
Prof, have you checked out these guys for beep codes?http://bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm
"Pro"? no way, school of hard knocks. Still learning as I go. (heck I'm lucky if I can navigate through Winders )
it is an intel p4 2.66ghz motherboard and all things are built in like sound, LAN, Video etc..
