Another teenager has been arrested on suspicion of releasing a variant of the infamous Blaster computer worm, which brought thousands of PC's to a screeching halt last month.
The youth, who has not been identified for legal reasons, is the second person to be arrested in association with the Blaster worm.

Blaster-B appeared at the beginning of August and infected at least 7,000 computers across the world by exploiting a hole in Windows.

In a statement, US Attorney John McKay said: "Computer hackers need to understand that they will be pursued and held accountable for malicious activity, whether they be adults or juveniles."

Jeffrey Lee Parson, an 18-year old student from Minnesota, was arrested earlier this month and is accused of modifying the original Blaster and creating a domain name t33kid.com as a new variant of the Msblast.exe file.

In January 2003, a British virus writer was sentenced to two years in jail for creating and distributing a number of viruses including the infamous Gokar mass-mailer virus.
