Ancient Modem - New Motherboard

edited January 2006 in Hardware
I was wondering if its feasible to swap my PCI LT WinModem into my new rig with a Gigabyte K8NE? The new Mobo lacks , i think it lacks, two plugs one labeled "fax voice modem" the other "ring". I dont know if I require these plugs or they were just optional on my old system.

Also, is there anyway of identifying exactly which revision of motherboard I have? I know the Socket 754 K8NE has both a revision 1.0 and 2.0 and I'd like to know which mine was. Why? Because my board doesnt match the picture in that of the 2.0 revision online manual.

You should be able to plug your modem into a pci slot and be good, as far as the revision, take a close look at your board it should be stamped someplace on it.
(if it's a rev 1 it might not say it anywhere)
