No sound :(

:doh: Recently I reinstalled my comp and now I have no sound at all.... im running a dell 4600 with windows.


I tried plugging in my microphone but no luck.... windows doesnt even let me start up my volume control

    Go to Dell's site and download the Sound drivers for your model. ;)

    I installed soundMAX and the sound is crap is there any way to enhance the sound? I might just buy a soundblaster card but wondering if its worth even that

    Was the sound "crap" before your HD crash? If it sounded fine before, you probably just need to tweak the settings a little. You might want to run Windows Update, too. Is that AC97 audio?
