Internet Connection Problems

My internet connection has been working ok but since I upgraded Firefox to version 1.5 it has been causing problems. Firefox will not now load at all. IE will go to my home page (google) if I click the refresh button as soon as it says the page cannot be found. I can then do a search but if I click on a link I get the page cannot load error page.

I have tried removing firefox and Have done a system restore but this has made no difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Any advice gratefully received.:confused:

    I am posting a reply to my own thread as it may help other novice users!
    A friend has told me that the pages coming up on IE were loading from cache (which had fooled me into thinking I was connected) and that the problem was with the internet connection. Problem solved.
