weird IE problem
We recently had a power outage here where I live and when I came home from work my computer was off. I rebooted and noticed I didn't have an internet connection. I have several other computers in the house networked through the same router. They all are able to access the internet. I called both my ISP and Linksys (the manufacturer of the router) to help me troubleshoot this situation.
I have released and renewed my IP Address and I receive Ping replies from the router, the DNS and from both www.yahoo.com and www.google.ca.
When I go to access the internet via IE it doesn't let me connect. Similarly, when I go to log on to MSN it also doesn't allow me to connect.
I'm hoping you can help me...I'm running XP and feel like I've checked every avenue! HELP!
Hope to hear back from you soon,
B

Shutdown your pc and connect the LAN connection directly to your ISP modem. Turn on your pc and see if you can hit the internet.
If this doesn't work, go to a command prompt and type: ipconfig /all Make sure you have DNS Entries listed. You should see the IP Address, Sub, Gate, and your DNS Entries. Make sure the DNS entries are correct with your ISP.
Let me know what happens.
