I checkout my rigs today to make sure they were all folding and I noticed why my points have not been sent.... all my work Pc's seem not to beale to send work out, there are unable to connect to servers. is there a way to change what port they use to send out items? or is there away i can transfer the 40+ WU's to a tower that can send them?

14:39:14] + Attempting to send results
[14:39:15] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
[14:39:15] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)
[14:39:15] (171.64.122.133:8080)
[14:39:15] - Error: Could not transmit unit 04 (completed January 18) to work server.
[14:39:15] Keeping unit 04 in queue.

I have this message on all my rigs! I guess if there is away to send it out via port 21 or something it would work.. Ithe IT dept says they wont open any ports for me.. I can only use the ones given!

    It still reads 8080???? and the ctf file says 80!

    How Do I do this?

    You may want to tweak one thing which had helped others. Even if you do not use IE but try it...

    If you currently using "Use IE Settings" -- Try change it to "No Proxy". Or something like that.

    1) Use IE Settings
    2) No Proxy
    3) Proxy with additional information

    Looks like that server is heavily loaded at the moment. (See the NETLOAD figure.)

    I'd try and hang tight for a bit. The same thing happened to me earlier this week. Once the server caught up the WU's went out just fine. :)

    try making a shortcut to the client you want to send from and add the -sendall flag. Run the shortcut and see if that works. It's the manual way of sending wu's in case you are unaware.
    If it doesn't send then that just means the client is too busy or isn't accepting yet.

    Also, whatever flag or non-flag you are using on that client if you change it it will receive and send to a different server. Like if you're using -advmehtods then take it out til things get back on track ...or if you're not using it try adding it.

    Are you absolutely sure that NOTHING on the network has changed.. that could block connections to stanford...?

    I have seen this before but only when one of two things happen...

    The stanford servers were out... or
    Something is blocking connections to stanford.

    Is there a way to check? IT might have blocked up a connection... but usually they would let me know!

    Mine wasn't sending earlier this morning/last night. It just recently sent, so I'm not entirely sure it was you.

    NETLOAD tells how busy the server is by netstat (i.e. how many current connections the server is handling). Too many connections (eg more than 20-30) means that the server is heavily loaded.
    171.64.122.70 --> NETLOAD = 45
    171.65.103.100 --> NETLOAD = 76

    Unless something has changed at your end, it seems likely that it's just a case of the servers at Stanford getting hammered at the moment. :)

    Well Shorty and I did a little network testing to find that all ports and connections to Stanford have been terminated or blocked! From my end! I do know my IT dept has been doing updated and upgrades and I think during this time they have increased security! So as of now all my work towers are offline

    NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! As much as that hurts me to say it.

    I am going to try to work with my IT dept in fixing this matter, but when they gave me the approval they said I can run the program all I want as long as it works with current security setups. I guess what they meant to say was... you can do it, but if we have to adjust anything your out of luck!

    But there is a bright side... is till have 10 comps at home folding away! so .... Sledgehammer70 will slow drop from the ranking until I can get this resolved!

    Now the real question!

    Is there a way to upload WU’s from a different comp? like save all the ones i have and upload them from a comp at home?
