I have a feeling my ram is holding me back from ocing my 1700+ jihub cpu. Its running at 2000 but its like at 15 x 133 I cant put it at anything higher then 266 ( aka like 11 X 134 ) wont work at all. I put the CPU in my pops Nf7-s ( same board as mine ) and it ocs at 200 x 11 fine no problems. Only diff is he has corsair ram and mine is geil. My geil is 3200 but its old 3200 when like 3200 first came out. Are my thoughts correct that this could be the ram?

GeIL + First run 3200 + Their product testing habits at the time = BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD. Take a stick of his corsair and see if you top 200. If ya do, then you know the problem.

It should go faster. Any RAM should go a few mhz faster than rated. Manufactures have a buffer of what the product is rated at and what it can actually do.

Must be something else. A setting in BIOS or something.

Yea yea leshsi I just got off a 14 hr day and i am trashed! cut a brotha some slack! and thrax I am running 200 x 10 right now smooth and fast as can be. I figured 512 running at 400 is as good as 1 gig at 266 am i wrong?

Wrong, mate. Bandwidth is not to be confused for memory capacity, you'd think it equals, but it doesn't. Oh well.

well i want to run its at 200 since i can OC my cpu more and get more for the folding team. Since right now i cant fold cause it crashes. I was thinking of getting these http://www.essencompu.com/nupplysingar.asp?ID=4568 I figure 512 should be enuf since all i want to do is fold and play games no video editing or anything like that

BTW the geil ran at 400 in my asus board and was sweet. I seen such a performance drop since it wont run on this board correctly. I am running the 512( one stick ) in this machine now and ran bench marks and it tested higher in Sandra So i figure if i get 512 in dual channel I should be ok

I should note that I recently got to test a gig of pc3200 at 220, 2/2/2/6. Damn, going from 512 to 1024 and playing games like Planetside and EverQuest...Felt like I was playing all new games. It didn't even FEEL like my old system. Everything loaded so fast, no glitches rendering drastic changes in scenery, everything was more smooth than it's ever been.

I -hate- being on 512mb again. So I'm buying 1GB of Corsair 3500c2PT.

well as crappy as that was running i pulled the old switch-a-roo and put hte 1 gig of geil in my moms and took her 512 matched pair of corsair xms. I can OC my processor correctly now and plus I can run Dual channel. I and loading faster and ll too. Since i switched 15 min ago hers runs faster and so does mine. Sandra was 250 mflops faster adn all the test ive run like 3dmark aqua mark and pc mark Ive come out faster. Not much but alittle faster. So i may have lost 512 but I am not lagging behind cause it wasnt running properly. and most important i can fold again

Since I haven't seen you post but gatherd from your referances that you must have an NF7-S yourself????? NF2 boards especially the NF7-S dos not seem to like Geil at all for O/C'ing.
