Installing Windows xp

I have just made my new pc and i went to install windows, i put the disc in and then reboot it then after showing some information like ide drives and stuff it has boot from cd:
(loads a while and then saids)
Disk boot failure, Insert system disk and press enter

This happens everytime. Any help would greatly be appreciated

    Did you format your HD before completely installing XP? There will be a chance to do that in the installer and if you have a new HD it needs to have a partition made and then have formatting to happen.

    When you boot from a windows disk, it does boot right to the disk. You need to hit a key to get it to actually boot from the disk. The error will happen since there is no os on the drive.
