Half-Life 2 expansion to be called "Episode One" instead of the thought "Aftermath". This name change suggests that later episodes will be released.
Valve Software has revealed to GameSpot that Aftermath, the upcoming expansion pack to the award-winning 2004 shooter Half-Life 2, has been renamed "Half-Life 2: Episode One." When asked whether the name change is indicative of a change in direction for the Half-Life 2 franchise, Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi replied, "episodic." When asked the follow-up question of whether the new name meant that beginning of a regular flow of content, Lombardi replied, "yes."

I'll be buying each one.... as long as they are worthy. HL2 is one of the best games, if not THE best game I have ever played. That list is not long, but I am sure others would agree to it's greatness. If the "episodes" are equal to the HL2 game in quantity and quality then why the hell wouldn't they release it in episodes. Could you imagine 4 times more content on a single game for $50? Sure that'd be great for a gamer, but horrible for the company.

    Anyways....

Same here, I agree. Pity it's through Steam though. I prefer my games on CD so they work without having to connect to Steam, when it works it's ok but I have had some problems with it that stopped me playing for days.

It looks like each episode will be around $20

Update: Teamkilled has also recevied information from Doug Lombardi that Half-Life Deathmatch: Source will be released with Aftermath (Bundled). Aftermath will be around $20 USD when released.
