Software "history" ?

Hello,

Is there a way that I could see my computer's history; a record of what programs have been run and when they were run? Or is there a program I can download that can interpret that information? I'm thinking of something like an internet history of websites you have been to? Thank you for any help or suggestions :)

    If you are using Windows XP (not sure about previous versions). About the closest built in funciton to that is going into control panel>add remove programs. I shows the last time they've been used and gives you an aproximation of how frequently they've been used.
