Extreme Lag on Startup

2 days ago when i rebooted my comp from a crash it started really lagging on startup. It basically hangs indeffinatly and after 10 min it starts responding rationally.
I dont know what the problem is. I have scanned using norton, housecall, a few other antiviruses as well as adaware and have come up empty.I tried scanning in safe mode and still nothing, but the lag dosent happen in safe mode. I have also tried diabling some programs i run on starup, still dosent help.
I am not very good with computers so can someone please tell me on what might be causing this?

PS: I use WInXP

    I wasn't able to spot anything amiss in your log.

    As a next step, I'd recommend running the diagnostic from the hard drive manufacturer. A few passes of Memtest-86 would be a good idea as well.

    Excuse my ignorance but I also seem to get a very slow start-up loading screen. I have ran HiJackThis and I didn't know what to do and how to post you a log to see if anything was wrong.

    Run HijackThis, click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile", copy all the text and paste it in a new thread in our Spyware/Virus/Trojan Discussion Forum. One of our SVT Swat Team members will be along to look things over - tell 'em Prof sent you. :)
