RichD: As your problem is more Network related, it would best to start a new thread in the Networking & Security Forum. You will get better exposure over there and hopefully resolving your problem sooner. No need to explain the whole situation, just put a link back to this thread. :)

skankinred: Thanks for helping out. Its very much appreciated! :)

Hi guys. I think I have the .2 IP mystery solved. I don't know exactly what it is doing but I tried to connect to the router in IE by typing the IP 192.168.1.1 This istantly redirects you to a page located on 192.168.1.2. I am assuming that as skankinred said the router was using both IPs. Anyway, thanks for all your help.

Glad you got it sorted out. That's strange the router takes 2 IPs.

Yeah I thought so to. Ive been looking into it a bit further. The IP config/all test shows that the gateway is 192.168.1.1 and the DHCP and DNS servers share the .2 IP.

Deffinately. Beleave me you were more than a help with getting the machine clean in the first place. It prob took longer than a full install but all the data is still intact and it was quite interesting too. How do you learn about hijack this logs and how to decode them? Is it just experienceor are there any sites you can learn from. I would love to be able to decode my own but havn't got a clue where to start.
