A8N-SLI Deluxe BIOS upgrade a good idea?

edited February 2006 in Science & Tech
I was wondering if it is a good idea to upgrade the BIOS for the A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard, or should i leave it to the one thats already there?

i would post a link, but i cant find the A8N-SLI Deluxe mother board on their site anymore..?? I was just looking at it like 10 minutes ago :skeptic:

upgrading Bios is a good thing as a lot of support for the AMD chips have been added as well as a few features. I know I update my bios if there is over 5+ revisions above my current board. If you have no issues than stay with what you have. Most updates have to do with the X2 processors!

I am still building the computer... so i dont know how its gonna turn out. I am using a AMD Athlon 3200+ processor, not an X2. but I think ill do an upgrade anyway.

    thanks

I generally wouldn't update unless there is something worth updating. Like for my Abit AN8-SLI Fatal1ty I have zero problems, and the only revision they've made on the newest bios versus mine is added support for more processors. Now if they mentioned something like a speed increase or something then Imight consider updating.

If you are going with a 3200 I wouldn't worry about updating the BIOS. If after you have it all up and running and you experience problems that the newer updates claim to have fixed then and only then would I recomend doing it. Most new boards these days have a good BIOS for the basic CPU's. If later on you plan on getting an X2 for the same board, I would recomend updating prior to swapping CPU's
