RPG unplugged?

Are there any newer decent RPG games that don't require a constant internet connection? Let's just say if my neighbors decided to shutoff their router I would'nt get much play time. RPG's don't really seem to be very newcomer friendly or at least I have always percieved them that way especially when your dealing with an MMO format. It's kinda tough on the old ego to get stomped by some magical 27th level fire chicken controlled by a twelve year old ya know? Any advice?... (Other than to quit whining and start building a bigger and better fire chicken.:tongue2: )

Thanks, thats a good one!! Spare me your dictated principles, if I were'nt living in a veterans hospital that would be a wonderful solution however until that time comes I use public and/or legal access when I can get to it. I was speaking facetiously when reffering to my reasons for my inability to play OMRPG's.

C'mon prime... have a little faith

I do all my RPG playing on my PS2 and Gamecube. No internet issues or n00b issues to worry about. There are so many good RPGs for the PS2, and a few great ones for the gamecube too.

PC, i hear Elder Scrolls is awesome, and Fable too. They are both offline as far as I know.

final fantasy x and x2 was pretty fun to play, digital devil saga 1 and 2 , or Eldar scrolls 4 if you want the fake mmo experience
