SLOW SLOW SLOW - please help!

I ran spybot and adaware. Please help. It is really hard to get anything done on this machine and I have to do a lot of work this weekend!

    I'm not ruling out the potential for spy/virus's. But have you checked some other more common things.

    Like defragging and scanning the harddrive for one. Has this been a sudden thing or has it just gradually started going down hill? Do you have many apps that are loading at boot that you don't need. Have you got a very large (file size) background picture? Have you got all the nifty graphic options for windows turned on that make it look pretty, but slow it down, etc...

    I'm not ruling out the potential of maliscious code. But a lot of times there are basic set up issues or maintenance issues that can and should be done to keep your computer running as clean and fast as possible.

    Hi Becky. Sorry to do this to you again but you are currently running Hijack This from here:

    C:\DOCUME~1\Admin\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for hijackthis_199.zip\HijackThis.exe

    Could you please make a folder here:

    C:\HJT

    And copy Hijack This to that folder. Or you could just drag the hijackthis.exe file to your desktop and run it from there. We need to get it out of the temporary folder it's in.

    Well Becky I don't really see any problems with your log. The only questionable entry is this one:

    Do you recognize this? Could you tell me a little more about your problem? Are you having pop-ups or crashes. There is another scan we could run that is similar to hijack this but finds infections that hijack this can't. Once you tell me a little more about your problem we might consider running that one.
