Scratched HP 1120 !

One of my little darlings has managed to scratch the tinted surface on my HP 1120 flatscreen CRT, right in the viewing centre !:rarr:

Anyone have any idea as to whether or not the tint can be cleaned off and how or if its even a good idea to try.
Maybe it time to get a new TFT and just bin it.

Binning it seems such a waste for what was a superb screen.

they might be able to fix it, but I'd say just buy a new one.

i have no idea how theyd fix a crt, but I imagine its possible.

There used to be some clear filler type stuff for filling the scratches on CDs, maybe that'd work.
Edit, I've just reread the post, sorry is it just the tint that's scratched off?

If it's just the coating it should not be too hard to have it repaired. You may even be able to do it yourself. It may be worth your while to make a few calls to local camera shops. I may be mistaken, but I believe you can use the same type of coating used on photo lenses.

Yes, it's just the tinted coating thats been scratched off.

I'll give the local camera shop a call, see what they can come up with.
