OpenOffice 1.1 Released

For those of you who are interested in a FREE, open source alternative to monolithic office suites might be interested in the latest version of OpenOffice.

Version 1.1 brings shine and polish to an application suite that seems like it may be ready to take on that "other" office suite in businesses and homes around the globe. After all, you can't beat the price.

US English is available now, with other languages soon to follow.

    YES, it IS ready for the big time, and most of the features will roll into Sun StarOffice 7.0 for those who think they need a manual also.

    Wow, this looks quite nice.

    I had heard of it before, but not actually looked into it.

    Looks well worth the download for my Linux machine.

    OOo is awesome; it's well worth the download for your Windows machine too, if you can't afford Mikeysoft Office...
