No Local Area Connection after Reformat!

edited February 2006 in Science & Tech
Hi guys, I reformated my computer yesterday and everything went perfect except it did not install network ethernet drivers or sound drivers, i was able to find sound drivers and fix the audio on my comp, but raid controllers and ethernet controllers are still not installed!

It doesnt have a Local Area Connection and I cant connect to internet, I am running optimum online with a motorola surfboard cable modem and a linksys g-router.

I am not sure which 10/100 ethernet card I have if it even is that, and raid controller, I know i have Silicon Image, but I cant find a working one.

Can someone please help me to find out my network ethernet card and my Silicon Image SATA Driver???

Thanks.

There are a couple ways to find out what ethernet card you have.

First (simplest) is if you have a branded PC like HP, Dell, Compaq etc... you can go to their websites look up the model and download the ethernet drivers, of which there will probably be a couple varieties.

If you don't have a branded one then you'll probably have to open the case and find the model of your eithernet card if it's an add-on card or get the model of your mother board if it's a built in card.

Then from that you can find the drivers you need put them on a cd and load them up.
