The Inquirer reports that the 7900GTX will debut March 9th a MSRP of $599 and a clock speed of 650mhz. The number of pixel pipelines however is up in the air.
according to our sources, the G71 will be nothing more than a 90 nanometre G70 die shrink. It won't have more than 24 pipelines but you never know what Nvidia has exactly up its sleeves.
.......
If Nvidia did put 32 pipes in G71 chip this would make its chip as a much better competitor and will make ATI run hard for its crown. We think that Nvidia could win most of the benchmarks with 32 pipes.

Last March, I bought a 1987 Mazda Rx-7 for $1300. This March, I could have a 7900 GTX SLI setup for the same money. Despite being almost 20 years old, that car out-handled and out-accelerated most compact cars on the market today. How will that SLI setup stand up against what's available in a year from now?

In other words, I'll take horsepower over 3dmarks any day :D

I just got a 7800GTX because my 9800 Pro was getting a bit long in the tooth; I couldn't play Quake 4 or Battlefield 2. When it gets to be a problem again though, there will probably be something even faster then the 7900 GTX available.
