64BIT processor on XP home edition?

Hi i want to know if i can run an Athlon Dual core 64 bit processor on Windows XP home edition, i have had several differring opinions on this.

Some say yes, others no.

Anyone help me please, thanks.

And if i can, is it worth doin so???

    It will be just fine. AMD 64 CPU's are designed to run either 32 bit or 64 bit as well as both together. I also feel that you are better off with Home or Pro as 64 still doesn't have enough support for drivers.

    I am using an Opteron 170 dual core on Windows XP Home. It runs perfectly. :)

    I always thought you couldn't do Dual CPU/Core on Home?? It's nice if/that Home allows DualCore CPUs to fully stretch their legs.
