New Speakers

Hi,

I'm in the market for some new speakers. I currently have some Cambridge Soundworks 2.1 speakers.

I'm thinking about sticking with 2.1 as opposed to 5.1 or higher, as I don't really need higher.

What are the good brands?

How many watts does a decent set of speakers have?

I'm a real novice in the speaker market, so any help would be appreciated.
