6800 Gt = what ATI card

can not find anything about this.

what ATI card has simular performance the the 6800 GT 256 meg card?

the video quality (ie movies) to be blunt, blows, when streached.

my laptop, and all ati cards, that i had where great on this area.

unless any one knows better drivers, tryed the latest ones and 4 versions back.

    x800xl or x800xt the xt is a bit faster then xl is a bit slower.

    That's strange that you're having problems with video. A lot of HTPC guys swear by the 6X00 nVidia cards, probably because of the PureVideo feature.

    not sure here eather

    the LCD is the same one that I used on the Laptop

    both were connected via DVI, other then the streached AVI(files ran @ full screen) it dose not look to bad

    looks grainy when ran at full screen

    same software as the stuff on the laptop

    k-light codac pack with WMC player

    all at defult

    This sounds stupid, but maybe the problem is that the 6800 is too good for the quality of the video file? If the video file is compressed, you might get grainyness that wouldn't show up on lower quality video hardware, but with the 6800's higher quality output it shows the flaws more clearly. Just a random thought I had. You get the same effect with high quality sound hardware and MP3's, the higher detail highlights flaws you don't notice on lower quality hardware.

    decist is correct, i have noticed this aswell
