just want to ask about something. If you remember I have a question about the dialer virus, does the downloader virus behave like it?
about a few months ago i was infected with the dialer virus while i was still using a dial up modem (now i have a dsl connection) it dialed a 1-900 number without my knowledge. first my connection was cut off then a porn ad came poping up after it dialed the number. this happened a few times while i'm surfing the net but i was able to prevent the dialing of this then unknown number by quickly turning off my modem. unfortunately someone else used my computer and was not aware that i was infected by a virus and so i got billed. I only found out about it when my phone bill came.
according to what i read in the internet dialer virus goes to a certain site and downloads something using a dial up number. but isn't it that the concept of a downloader is just the same so is it still possible to get billed unknowingly if i go to a certain website and download something (since dsl connection is connected to a phone)
can i also be charged for downloading a site using a p2p software?
