monitor bad quality

hi,
i use a dual set up. 1 x 17inch tft and 1x19inch crt.
My CRT monitor has lost quality of late. The colour is slightly off and very different to the tft. The contrast is also spiradic in quality. I am aware that it is quite old about 4 years, however it hasnt been used all day every day. I know nothing about calibrating monitors. I have fiddled with the settings and got it so its useable, was just wondering whether anyone had any tricks?
Not urgent hope everyone is well etc, now short media has got me through the seriously bad stuff just ironing out the system
