Athlon XP2000 fsb setting?

I am a complete newb, i have an athlon xp 2000 but when i start my computer it tells me that i need to set me fsb again, currently it is on 100mhz, should it be on 133mhz or the other options it has down? thanks

    It should be set to 133. The reason it would say that is either because it has not been set before, or you keep setting it way too high to something that it cannot handle at all and the built in checked detects a failure and changes it back to something low so you can change it back to something you want.

    Depending on your RAM and your other devices you may be able to run it at 166 or even 200. But as I said, it depends on your RAM.

    What RAM are you running btw? If its DDR it will be something like PC2100, 2700, 3200 or 3500. If it is just normal RAM it will just be PC133, 166 or 200.

    this amd chip should be running at a default of 133mhz, palomino core i assume, which means it wont OC that much either ;x

    That might depend on what mainboard you are using. Some comes with 100 fsb set by default and can create havoc.

    Is there any dipswitches on that board?
