Unmoutable boot disc!!
new to these forums. wondering if u guys can help.
I switch on and it comes to 4 options (safe mode, last known good settings etc..) Whichever one I pick, the computer starts to load and then restarts. If i select 'start windows normally' then blue screen stating 'unmountable_boot_volume'.
I stick the recovery cd in and after reading up on possible methods, ii continue installation of windows xp until it gives me selection of partitions. For some reason, i have two partitions F:\ (cd drive with recovery cd in) and C:\. the partition on the C:\ is '[unknown]'. There is no option to repair the partition.
Does this mean windows so corrupt that it cannot be repaired?
What can i do?

Running the diagnostic from the HD manufacturer would be a good idea, too.
