Remote access software to lock a computer?

I've been doing some computer work for extra cash. It works out good for me. I fix people's home systems, get the viruses and spyware out, things like that.
But once in a while, someone gives me a check instead of cash, and there are problems when I can't cash it because it isn't good.
I'm pretty good at judging which people are likely to write bad checks to me. I make sure I know where they live if they're writing a check so I can track them down.
But now I've got someone who thinks he's a tough guy and will pay me when he's good and ready. I'll deal with him one way or another.
But to avoid this problem in the future, I'd like to find out if there's some remote access software I can install in computers I work on. Installed several layers deep in some obscure system folder. Not every computer would get it, just the ones from owners who look like they're not good for their check. If I have problems cashing the check, I'll use the remote access software to shut their system down until I get paid, maybe even display a little message like "This computer has been locked for non-payment of the computer repair debt, signed, Tim".
If their check is good, I'll just never use the software, no problem.
I've of heard of things like PC Anywhere, but can it be installed on various computers at different times? I sometimes go for months between check cashing problems.

I'll just have to insist on cash from here on out.
