Article: Anandtech: NVIDIA's Tiny 90nm G71 and G73: GeForce 7900 and 7600 Debut
Today, NVIDIA is unveiling two GPUs powering three different flavors of video cards. Say hello to the GeForce 7600 and 7900 series, new mid-range and high-end graphics cards ranging from $199 to, well, very expensive. These introductions mark NVIDIA's transition in earnest to 90nm fab process technology, a place where ATI has been for a number of months.

Speaking of ATI, the folks there couldn't stand by and watch new GeForces arrive without doing something, so they've decided to unveil a new $249 Radeon card and rework their product lineup to include a range of more affordable options. We've tested the Radeon X1800 GTO alongside the new NVIDIAs.

Oh, yes. And we have the juicy details on the King Kong of PC graphics, quad SLI, where not one, not two, but four GeForce 7900 GPUs can pull together to squash all competition and raid your Swiss bank account.

How on earth can I get more power to the core of my GFX card?
I have a 7800 GS, and i can over clock to 500/1500. and my stock speeds were 440/1300. I just need to get my core further, and at gone 500 it will start rebooting, accept if it feels like it it will work at 510 or 520, but obviously not stable. Is there any bios modification that will add more power to the core? or replace a resistor?

Hi there, you are more than welcome to register in the forums and ask about this. I can think of a few things that might be affecting your ability to overclock your vid card, one of which is what psu do you have in your machine. Another problem could simply be heat related with your vid card, needing a better heatsink on the gpu or simply replacing the factory TIM on the gpu with some AS5..

Sadly you can't replace the HS on a 7800GS with anything aftermarket due to the stocker cooling not only the core but the PCI-E bridge chip.

You can replace the heatsink of a 7800GS use a Salman ZM-VHS1 for the PCI-E bringe chip. Then you attach a Fatal1ty FS-V7 to it
