Second Life

Anyone here play it?

I got a free account after watching this video.

I've been playing for about a week, and I've made almost 650 L$ (game currency) and if i send that to my paypal it would equal around $2.50 USD ;D .

Not quite enough to live off of, but I made that just hangin around the casinos, selling items and real estate is where the big bucks are.

I mostly put this game on my second monitor when im doing whatever on the computer, I'm definatly not a hardcore Second-Lifer.

I heard the game was a spawning ground for furries and if there's one thing I hate on the Internet, it's furries.

Someone convinced me to make an account there (when they still cost to get a basic one) but now they are free so I don't play out of annoyance of having payed for an account for them to now be free.

It's really a lot harder than you think, and there are but a handfull of people across the globe that call this their main source of income. But hey I'm not doubting you, you and Magic go make millions.

To really make money you need land, which makes the game not free anymore (monthly fee). Creating items to sell is harder than i thought, but then again i haven't really put in an honest try. Without land I guess the only way to sell items is to be a walking salesman, which i have yet to see (maybe it's the newest thing though...)

I now see that, but its still kinda fun. As long as I get some money I'll be happy. ;)

Hrm, I might give it a try and see what it takes to make "real money" I can't see anyone having a life outside this game and make actual good money though. You'll need at least $1000 to live off of per month, unless you live with mommy and daddy, then you would only need $0 becuase your a little stinker :P

Making money looked easier than it actually is. I tried to make some and I cant, so I think Im going to log on every tuesday and wait till I have atleast 5k L$ then sell that and get $16.89 USD in return.

That is fast becoming my game plan as well, logging in once a week isnt bad for a couple bucks.

I thought you only got the weekly money if you were a member that paid monthly to play, ergo you'd be paying more to play than you would get back...

ya im not gettin how they can pay out with no income, say you only made 2 dollar... wahoo. but that times the 500,000 ppl playing and making that same 2 dollars doesnt seem possilble. has anyone cashed out their free game earned coin yet?

free members get a smaller weekly allowance, i think free is 100 L$ and premium is like 200 L$ maybe?

they made basic accounts free because they have enough income to sustain free accounts til they either upgrade or quit.

even if you have a free account, when you take money out or put it in, its "taxed" by SL.

in USD they're giving us .38 cents a week, whereas they get at least 3 dollars a week per subscription, and thats for a tiny plot of land.

How much time did it require to get that $4.18?

I thought I might give it a try but it won't let me. After I enter all the details it says my card details need to be re-entered, I have entered them correctly but it still won't create an account. Oh well.

It's American and therefore due to America being the center of the world it will probably only accept a Visa Credit Card.

It was a Visa card I was using. They also reckon around 25% of players are from the UK. All my card details were highlighted for change even though they were entered correctly.

I tried playing it awhile back, but I wasn't really impressed, so I uninstalled it... I think I had a few hundred bucks in there, just from going to some guy's yacht who was having a dance party and would give out a few $ to one random person every 5 minutes...
