Considering the Samsung 970P monitor?

I think I am going to buy the Samsung 970P monitor, maybe sometime next week.
But I do have a couple of questions.
Most of the reviews I have been plowing through have rated it as an excellent monitor, or in that vicinity.

This section in particular:
"970P uses 6 bits + dithering?!"
(I have read it, doesn't sound too good in my opinion)
Is that an issue? And will it be noticeable?
It is going to replace an old Samsung 750P, you can barely see anything anymore, it has become very dark even at max brightness.
