PC Perspective has made a big update to their hardware leaderboard that offers suggestions for components on new system builds. This time around we have a variety of ATI and NVIDIA-based solutions, though they are still going strong with the AMD Athlon 64 X2 or single core processors.
In this update the High End system price increased $350, but I think the components we added are well worth the difference. First up, we moved from the X2 4400+ processor to the X2 4800+, adding some speed and power to the system that is only one step below the FX-60 even though it is nearly half the price. I upgraded to a X16 NF4 SLI chipset as well and put in the new BFG 7900 GT OC card instead of the 7800 GT. Both of these brought along modest price increases. The rest of the hardware remained pretty much the same.
Stop in and say hello to the frogs while you're visitng :)
