DVI Cable hookup?

Now my monitor didn't come with one so im gonna by one.

One thing is tho, my monitor has the dots and a straight line -

So the connection for the monitor is DVI-D dual link

but for my video card is DVI-I dual link...

is there something wrong here? do i need a monitor with DVI-I

im so confused

    You can buy a cable, which has a dvi-d connector at one end, and a dvi-i connector at the other. Either go to your local pc store, or purchase one online.

    Actually it's easier than you think. Buy DVI-dual. The otheres will fit into it and work fine.

    Wiring is the same. Just a lot of the dual cable pins won't get used.
