Computer turns itself back on???????

Hi

I know people normally have a problem with their Rigs when they keep turning off on them, mine keeps turning itself back on. I'm sure its some setting in the BIOS but I don't know which one.


Any ideas guys

    there is a setting in bios ...something like "wake on lan". I never enable that.

    You don't have aol by any chance?

    Look under the Power Management section and see if it's set to come on due to activity on a port, a bus (USB, PCI, etc) or on a schedule.

    I'm thinking there's a short under the Power On switch.

    You dont a superfluous motherboard mounting peg under the mobo at that point with no corresponding mounting hole, Do you? If so remove it or place some insulating tape under the mobo at that spot.

    Another thing to look for is 'wake on keyboard/mouse'.. If the PC is starting by hitting any key on the keyboard, that could be the cause..

    I'd be curious about WoL too.. see if it still occurs with the ethernet cable disconnected..
