Operating from C Prompt...Help!

Apparently some kind of virus has been downloaded, locked up the pc and has rendered it useless. I managed to get to the c prompt by changing the boot order and putting in a bogus disc (not sure how I did that). Now I can pull up the task mgr and ipconfig and nothing looks awry. Can someone give me a quick rundown (refresher on cmd prompt entries...) on some things I may try to get this comp back up and running? I don't have a Windows XP disc and can't get one anywhere. I just want to save the files in "My Pictures" (Thank God this wasn't MY laptop!) Any way to accomplish this without XP?

Super Extra Thanks!!
Kelly

Only thing I can really think of is designing a boot disk with NTFS and USB support -- NTFS to read your busted HDD, and USB support to read/write to a thumb drive.

You'll need the DUSE 4.4 USB Stack For DOS package.

You'll also need the information found:
    Here
    Here
    and
    Here

For instructions and information on assembling an NTFS+USB DOS disk. Because of the way the various available USB/NTFS kits operate, there's no one end-all/be-all instruction to get them to work. If there was, I'd put a step-by-step here.

    Good luck. :)
