I just installed ubuntu so I can try to learn linux a bit, and it seems to be done installing and now is trying to load the OS but I dunno as there is no longer any video, looks like it's trying to use a resolution my monitor is not capable of, or a high refresh rate.

Any ideas?

NM I got it, just reinstalled it, doesn't take long at all luckily. Quicker than Windows :D

Now I just need to figure out how to install my video drivers and what all else.

I haven't tried it yet but VMWare will let you run multiple OSes at the same time on the same machine given suitably beefy hardware. Something to try I suppose.

I use vmware on my compaq r3000 laptop..its a athlon XP mobile 3000+ , 1.2 GB of ram and 100GB disk.. seems to run well with gentoo as my base OS and then I have a fedora core 5 and winXP virtual machine running at the same time.
