edited October 2003 in Science & Tech
Terry Makedon from the ATI Catalyst group sends word that ATI's much anticipated Catalyst 3.8 driver suite will be available as of 3:00 PM EST on Wednesday, October 8th.

More than just a driver suite featuring the latest in stability, game compatability and performance updates, the Catalyst 3.8 driver suite will include never-before-seen features such as an integrated overclocking utility, dynamic overclocking (for R360 cards only) and a profile selector that will change the Anti-Aliasing & Anisotropic Filtering levels depending on the application chosen.

I hope these drivers are as good as they are touting...

Cats have a tendency on getting slower and slower from 3.2. Lets hope this is about to change. I want both speed and looks. But looks goes before.

Only 360 that does overclocking in software? Sensed by drivers or bios?

I would think both hardware & software, simply because the software automatically changes the clock speed of the VPU to keep the temperature around 55*C, which is read by a thermal probe onboard the card (not on the core).
