Access media files from a remote location

So, you have a media library sat on your pc at home and you want to watch your movies or listen to music while you're out and about? Well, with a little technical knowledge you can do this using windows media encoder and a lot of messing about, but there's an easier way. Assuming your internet connection has a reasonable amount of upstream bandwidth you can access pretty much anything in your media library using a simple program called the orb:

http://www.orb.com/

After registering on the website you download the program and install it on your home machine. And that's pretty much it. You use the website to point the orb at your library via a file browser, wait til the database updates and then you can access anything in your library. The only problem is the program can be a little flakey sometimes. On my 2K3 server the program would sometimes hang, and the only way to restart it would be a system reboot. Other than that little caveat though the system seems fairly sound, and even on my piddly little 300K upstream connection MP3's played at a reasonable quality.
