Write Protected Thumb Drive

edited April 2006 in Hardware
Ok, here at work, one of our 512MB Axiom USB Stealth Drives has some how become write protected. I can't write to or delete files off of it. Also, when copying all the files off of it I kept getting errors saying that the drive is write protected (Windows generated error) but if I hit continue (other options were try again and cancel) it appears to have copied the file. This drive does not have any type of hardware lock (switch, button, etc...) and I can't find any type of option in Windows. I have tried the drive in no less than 3 known good computers. Anyone have any suggestions?

Our machines are all running WinXP and the problem has carried across all the machines.

There are several solutions listed in this thread off-site, however it may simply be that your flash drive has gone bad.
